"E's FRIST Real Haircut"

About 6 weeks (holy cow has it been THAT long?) ago I picked E up from Day Camp & her gorgeous 'rupunzel' hair was in a huge 'rats nest' knot. I was horrified and I knew at that very moment, that it had to go. T was in the car with us, (I love summer- he was home w.us all the time!) and I spelled: Haircut. Now.

We didn't even go home, I called the salon and they had an apt in 20 minutes. Great, we headed to the bank and then over to my salon.

Thats when E flipped her lid. She has been to my salon before with my mom to bring me stuff while getting my hair done. So she knew where we were.

She wouldn't stop crying. "Not my hair mama" "No please". -- She had NEVER in her 3 yrs of life had a haircut. She had bang trims but not an actual cut.

It broke my heart.

T (who had just had a haircut) sat in the chair and they cut his hair to show E that it doesn't hurt.

They gave her a cool cape and clipped a 'booster' type thing onto the chair so she would be higher. Once she was finally on the seat, her crying slowed, but did not stop.

The stylist had to put 3 different cremes and leave-in conditioners in her hair to get all the tangles out. once all the knots were out and she had combed it through... she got out the scissors.

Thats when I lost it, but I had to turn around b/c I could not let E see me cry.
(thats why there are only a few pics)

In about 20 minutes over 6 inches was cut off and her hair was blow-dryed & styled. Once she realized it didnt hurt she stopped crying and was a trooper.

Yes, I kept a 'lock' -- it was added to her baby book.

Before & After:

Her hair looks so much healthier & she actually lets me brush it.

She loves it, she isn't as hot as she used to be and she actually likes getting it washed at night. Its not a fight anymore. She likes to move her head from side-to-side to make her hair 'swish'.

It is so cute and it fits her. I can only put part of it in a ponytail as it falls out.

I am glad I waited as long as I did to get her hair-cut and think it was done at the right time. We are probably going to keep it at the current length for a while, esp. with soccer starting this week (this is a post in itself). It works well for her.

"Tick-Off Tuesday"

I was going to write an actual post but I have a few things bothering me...

Thanks to Hailey for showing me the ways of "TOT"

...

Here is a list of things that are *currently* ticking me off:

-Driving over an hour to a Ford dealership TWICE to NOT buy a vehicle but to tell the salesman "Sir we WILL be back tomorrow to buy this vehicle and take it off your hands"

-After driving to said dealership our babygirl is not in bed till 9 o'clock, An hour after bedtime. So at about 8:10 she is a wad-o-fun. a mess. NO THANKS!

-Being in a heavy sweatshirt, sweatpants & fuzzy socks in JUNE & still being cold. Did I mention its JUNE & only 57* out. Only a few short days ago (Saturday) It was in the 90s, WTH mother nature? I HATE BEING COLD.

-That Fathers Day is in like 12 days & IDK what to get M from E, I obvi want it to be handmade, 'by her'. At. A. Complete. Loss.

-How my pretty has decided that she doesn't want to listen to me [or her daddy for that matter] anymore & we have had to take her bedtime story away 2-nights in a row. Breaks my heart. But I can't give in.

-That the internet is as slow as dial-up today. WTH is up with that?

-That I got ZERO packing done yesterday b/c right as I was going to start packing I decided that I was going to deep clean the bathroom. It needed it.

-I have all this desire to pack so I can move but at the same time I have no desire to pack, its such a tedious process.

-I have wanted pizza from Olivia's for the last 2.5 weeks, but I have been vetoed. Since I will be alone this weekend. Its going down. Bitches.

-My child has, overnight, become terrified of bugs & loud sounds. IDK how this happened but having a 2y/o glued to me when she sees a bug (ie: ant, etc) or hears a noise that is too loud she clings & whimpers. It was cute at first not so much anymore.

...

Well that about sums things up.

Don't miss a beat, keep up in between posts, I Tweet , a lot.

"Paybacks-"

I was always told when I was younger, one day Kelli when you have a child you are gunna get this back TWOFOLD...

I never believed it. But oh boy am I getting it back.

My sweet loving, cuddly baby girl has morphed into a back-talking, bad listener, no really, brick-wall listens better then her.

I ask her not to do something & she looks right at me as SHE DOES IT or vica versa.

She screams... A lot, for no reason.

She says "No mama" & runs away from me like its going out of style.

The floor gets more action from her food then her mouth. Its really ridiculous.

Time-out is her second home.

She gives a new meaning to temper tantrums.

I don't like yelling, really working on not doing it as much anymore, but by golly- shes not making it any easier!

I've heard of the "terrible-2s". I've even joked about the T2 in this here blogy. -- but guess who's NOT 2 yet!!!

But this is completely different from anything I have bloged about before. I don't know where my precious baby went...

I was talking to my mom about this the other day telling her about all of this and what do I hear on the other end of the line...?

LAUGHING!

Yes laughing. No lie. WTH.

She said "I don't mean to laugh, but this is what I told you about, you're getting it back. This is paybacks, my daughter"

I hope this is not a pre-preview of her teens. If it is I will be the sole reason Xanax (or by then there will be something way better and STRONGER) is in business...

B/C ladies lets be honest... Wine and back rubs from the man of the house only goes so far...

Just like anything we have GOOD days and when shes good shes GREAT! but then there's the BAD days... I fear the BAD days like I fear dooms day. Im serious. They are bad from the time she opens her little baby blues till the time mama & dada lay her down at 8:05/8:10. Its 11hrs of sheer torture. There are days that I try my darnedest to turn a bad day around and sometimes I am successful, but usually only for a few hrs, never all day.

I am patient, I am actully one of the most patience people I know. I am in graduate school for EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT (ages 4-3rd grade) & SPECIAL EDUCATION (children w.special needs) that takes PATIENCE!

But some days I feel like I am a horrible mother I just cry myself to sleep. M didn't know that I cry, b/c those nights I turn away from him, till this morning when I broke down to him. He rubbed my hair (that ALWAYS makes me feel better) & told me it was going to be okay & that we are in this together & that I am doing a great job w.her.

I know parenting is not an easy job, I didn't expect it to be, but some days ARE easier then others.

...

Have you entered my giveaway to win funsies HERE ? Its ONLY open for ONE more day!! --You can get up to 4 entries... In my opinion I am giving away adorable SPRINGY things!

Don't miss a beat, keep up in between posts, I Tweet , are we friends?

"Being Mom is a Hard Thing to Do"

Hailey over at Be Serious : Wrote about how "Being Mama is a Hard Thing to Do" a few days ago & I agree.

I am going to follow suit today!

Its basically about our worst parenting moments as a mother.

There are many things that I think about NOW and just smile or laugh about. They were totally not funny at the time, but they are now. I have so many esp. being that until 2.5 weeks ago I was for the most part a single mom.

I am sharing these with you, hoping that yall WON'T be all judge-yMcjudgerson- Now without further ado...

-Right after E was born, she was about a week old I told Hayls that my kid looked more like an alien baby then like a human baby. Then I proceeded to cry b/c you couldn't take babies back.

-There was the time that I had E in her bumbo seat on the island and I had baked "Monkey Bread" for M & Uncle Andy. I turned my back to turn the oven off and clean up the kitchen & w/a few kicks of her little legs E managed to kick my Beautifully glazed "monkey bread" of the island onto the kitchen floor Shattering the adorable platter it was on and brownsugar glaze flew everywhere. I yelled said loudly so may cuss words I would've put a sailor to shame; I moved her seat to the floor, opposite the "MB" and walked away, for like 10 minutes.

-I loved the times when E would't want to eat her babyfood, so I would try and shove it in her mouth and she would let me & then spit it back in my face or on the floor. I would then tell her I was going to give her away if she didn't shape up (I would nvr in a million yrs give her away!).

-I once told E that if she didn't let me out on her socks/shoes "Jackfrost" was gunna come take her toes away. She was "scared good" all day.

-There are days when E just won't listen for anything she opens & closes cabinets, doors etc and I tell her when she slams her fingers in them I am going to let her fingers fall off b/c I am too busy to run her to the DR to fix them.

-E bit me, it drew blood so I bit her back lightly but it scared her (i swear it wasn't hard)

-She pitches a fit, kicks and screams when she has to get her diaper changed so I tell her to do it her self or go on the potty. When she says "Help Mama" I say "No" till she say "Peepee in here mama" I make her lay quietly while I change her. Its like a min or 2 till she can go play again.

-Sometimes if she wont eat a healthy lunch I will give her anything just so she has something.

-There was also the time I locked E in the car, in 80* weather, I was nervously laughing & crying. She was sleeping till- The fire dept. was called and they couldn't get into my car. My b/f who is a mech. couldn't get into my car. Finally the fire chief called, Pop-a-lock, they got into my car free of charge.

As Hailey said I agree:
"What are your not-so-proud moments as a mother? Make me feel better" - PLEASE Comment (or do this and link me...) I need to feel better about myself!
