"Its all who you know"

It's all about who you know now-a-days. Really I mean you won't go anywhere if you don't know someone. As you all [or most of you] know I have been vying to go to grad school for a while now. Well with my lower GPA and not great GRE scores; getting accepted was starting to look impossible. Well if you know me... I mean really know me. You know NOTHING is impossible, if I want it badly enough. Well folks I want this- BAD.

So while I was on vacation I got talking to my boys sister... we'll call her ML & she was telling me how she loved the school she went to and how it was small classes and what not, not to mention the campus is GORGEOUS... I love that b/c I went to a smaller University and I'm used to smaller classes, but I digress.

She told me that she knows the Dean @ the college she got her Masters from. You may be thinking how I'm "taking the easy way out" think that... but it's up to me to prove myself once I am accepted (which I haven't been yet- I am still completing the app and getting everything together so I can send all that in- ASAP) Judge all you want you judgers. I am doing what anyone else would do. ITS ALL ABOUT WHO YOU KNOW. and I am doing what I know in the long run is best for my daughter and I.

I am starting to do what is best for the two of us and saying "screw it" if its not in our best interest. Im tired of making everyone else happy- It's time to make US happy. I have spent way too much of my life making everyone else happy. Its OUR turn.

Anyways she wrote this magnificent letter to the dean and after reading I had a few tears in my eyes. I thought to myself... -wow she has known me all of a month or so and seems to know me better then some people I have know for a lot longer, I was truly touched in a way I can't describe in words (if I get her permission I will post the letter- omitting names and such) and two -I was like she will be my sister-in-law one day. I am truly blessed to have such wonderful people in my life. truly.

But hopefully in the coming weeks I should know if I get accepted our not. I am also going to (fingers-crossed) start subbing in my county any day now!! So thats very exciting on my end, I am just awaiting one phone call. Its experience and that's a huge plus and looks fantastic on my resume.

Wish me luck! I'm gunna keep on pushing forward and of course keep all of my wonderful readers updated.

*I hope everyone had a Great Labor Day & a FANTASTIC college FOOTBALL kickoff weekend!*

Thx for sticking with me [us]
